Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. The trick then really is to be a scientist or an engineer rather than a serf. Any insider will tell you. That thing that you experience as a single moment is the end product of years of study, practice, and repetition. It important to them that it seem like magic rather than illusion. That their charm isn’t the product of years on stage or a hundred situations of similar fair. The magic for me is less meaningful and in a counter way less impressive. Endurance and planning can be as magical as sheer genius.
